Upon arrival you'll be greeted with overflowing flowerboxes adorning the porches, stuffed with old fashioned geraniums, vibrant petunias, and a variety of dainty flowers peeking through. The front garden is trimmed with colorful flower borders reminiscent of a English counrty garden, and the Inn has two comfortable old fashioned covered front porches, where you can surround yourself with flowers, visit with other guests, or sit back and watch the village activies.

Behind the Inn you'll find ample private parking and a waterfront lawn gradually slopeing to meet the water's edge, leadind to a dock with kayaks, complimentary for our guests to enjoy. It's a quiet spot, in a peaceful setting, to escape and soak up the expansive tidal harbor views, read a favorite book, or simply relax and let the world go by. The scenic tidal waterfront allows you to experience the magic of the changing tide without motor boats passing by.

It's facinating to watch the changing scenery of the inner harbor, where the ebbing tide revolves from high, to low, and back to high again every twelve hours. Low tide reveals the seaweed covered rocks, a place where the numerous seabirds gather, and often a Blue Heron, for which the inn was named, can be spotted searching for his next meal. Birdwatchers are delighted by the activies of the graceful seabirds displaying their grandeur.

Awake to the aroma of fresh brewed coffee, and Laura's homemade bread or muffins. For early risers, the local newspaper, coffee and a selection of gourmet tea is always available from 7:30 AM.
Our breakfast is served on Wedgwood china, buffet style from 8:00 to 9:30 for our guests to enjoy at their leisure. Dining is set with tables of two or four, and takeaway trays are available for those who prefer to enjoy it on their own waterfront porch while the sun greets the day.
Laura and Phil are warm, friendly, and engaging hosts who sent us on our way each morning with terrific breakfasts...especially the homemade breads and muffins, and Phil's fantastic French toast. They had suggestions for unique and interesting places to visit and wonderful restaurants. We had such a great time!
